Payers don’t want you to know how much control you really have regarding your claims’ reimbursement. They don’t want you to know that by applying ERISA regulations, you can force your payers to:

The event will feature

  • Pay your claims more quickly,
  • Stop downcoding your office visits,
  • Overturn claims that were previously denied,
  • Expand inadequate appeal deadlines, and
  • Return recouped funds previously taken from your practice.

Payers know that approximately 83% of your non-Medicare/Medicaid
claims are governed by ERISA regulations. For these claims, insurance
companies also know that their timely filing deadlines of 90-120 days
don’t apply, that they can’t legally recoup funds you’ve been paid and
that in most cases, your claims can’t be downcoded without your
input. However, they do it anyway because no one is pushing back.

Well, if you are tired to feeling like payers are holding all the

Session Description

Don’t give up on your under-reimbursing managed care contracts due to a lack of payer response to your negotiation requests. This is actually what they want you to do.

Payers are notorious for ignoring contract negotiation requests. However, it is possible to gain leverage to get them to update expired fee schedules and even change confusing termination language in your contract. But you must get their attention first. To do this, you must know how to speak “payer.” Once you do, you can get them to respond to your negotiation requests and even increase your rates.

This is where payer contract negotiation expert David J. Zetter, PHR, SHRM-CP, CHCC, CPCO, CPC, COC, PCS, FCS, CHBC, CMUP, PESC, CMAP, CMAPA, CMMP, CMHP, comes in. On Tuesday, July 25th at 1 pm ET, David will show you how to build and deploy a successful payer contracting strategy. Armed with this step-by-step plan of attack, you’ll engage payers more quickly and easily in contract negotiations and improve your results.

Here are just some of the proven payer contract negotiation tactics you’ll learn when you attend this 60-minute online training:

  • Create a successful negotiation strategy with easy-to-implement steps
  • Write a unique value proposition that makes your practice stand out
  • Ease the negotiation process by communicating what payers REALLY want
  • Get proven questions to ask early in payer discussions to improve outcomes

NSCHBC ERISA Webinar June 28, 2023Payers don’t want you to know how much control you have regarding your claims’ reimbursement. They don’t want you to know that by applying ERISA regulations, you can force your payers to:

  • Pay your claims more quickly,
  • Stop downloading your office visits,
  • Overturn claims that were previously denied,
  • Expand inadequate appeal deadlines, and
  • Return recouped funds once taken from your practice.

Payers know that approximately 83% of your non-Medicare/Medicaid claims are governed by ERISA regulations.

By attending this 90-minute session, David will break down the complexities of ERISA regulations into plain English so you will learn how to utilize the applicable portions of ERISA regulations to have more control of your payer requirements and reimbursements. If you’ve experienced even one of the scenarios below, and want to “push back” to change futures outcomes, this online training is for you:

  • Without warning, the payer takes back reimbursement from your future claims.
  • Your claim is downloaded without a request for progress notes or a doctor’s review.
  • Your claim is refused because it arrived past the payer’s timely filing period.
  • Your reimbursement is reduced because the payer bundled your services.
  • Your payment is sent to the patient by mistake, and you’re expected to collect it from them.
  • Your appeal is denied because it reaches the payer past their 90-day deadline.
  • Your claim is downloaded, and the payer refuses to tell you why, or who authorized it.
  • Your claim is denied for “investigational or experimental” services.
  • You’re told to comply with state-balanced billing law when federal ERISA rules apply.
  • You are denied the assignment of benefits for being a non-contracted provider.

Stop Payers from Taking Back Your Claim Payments with ERISA

David J. Zetter, PHR, SHRM-CP, CHCC, CPCO, CPC, COC, PCS, FCS, CHBC, CMUP, PESC, CMAP, CMAPA, CMMP

Session Description

Payers don’t want you to know how much control you really have regarding your claims’ reimbursement. They don’t want you to know that by applying ERISA regulations, you can force your payers to:

  • pay your claims more quickly,
  • stop downcoding your office visits,
  • overturn claims that were previously denied,
  • expand inadequate appeal deadlines, and

Payers know that approximately 83% of your non-Medicare/Medicaid claims are governed by ERISA regulations. For these claims, insurance companies also know that their timely filing deadlines of 90-120 days don’t apply, that they can’t legally recoup funds you’ve been paid and that in most cases, your claims can’t be downcoded without your input. However, they do it anyway because no one is pushing back.

Well, if you are tired to feeling like payers are holding all the cards, David Zetter, CHC, CPCO, CPC, COC, PCS, FCS, CHBC, CMUP, PESC, CMAP, CMAPA, CMMP, CMHP, can help. On Thursday, November 17th at 1pm ET, David is going to break down the complexities of ERISA regulations into plain English. He’ll walk you through only the pieces you need, and then provide you with actionable advice on how to use it.

By attending this 90-minute online training, you’ll learn how to utilize the applicable portions of ERISA regulations to have more control of your payer requirements and reimbursements. If you’ve experienced even one of the scenarios below, and want to “push back” to change futures outcomes, this upcoming online training is for you:

  • Your claim is denied for “investigational or experimental” services.
  • You’re told to comply with state balanced billing laws when federal ERISA rules apply.
  • You are denied assignment of benefits for being a non-contracted provider.

Payers are counting on the fact that only about 10% of practices really understand how to apply ERISA regulations to their claims. They don’t want you to know that ERISA regulations provide you with more control when it comes to how, when and what you are reimbursed for your services. But now you know….

The bottom line is that by mastering the complexities of ERISA, you can significantly increase your reimbursement, and reduce the number of hoops that payers require you to jump through to get paid. Don’t wait, sign up for this must-attend online training today.

PECOS: Master CMS Surrogacy Enrollment Requirements

David J. Zetter, PHR, SHRM-CP, CHCC, CPCO, CPC, COC, PCS, FCS, CHBC, CMUP, PESC, CMAP, CMAPA, CMMP

Session Description

CMS specifically prohibits you from using your provider’s PECOS (Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System) login to manage, verify, update or authorize their Medicare enrollments.

Instead, the Agency wants you to use their surrogacy system which allows you to work on your provider’s behalf using your own login. Failing to comply with these rules, means that you are NOT in compliance with CMS requirements – not somewhere you want to be.

There are strict guidelines for proper completion and compliance for managing PECOS Medicare enrollment surrogacy accounts, which means the accurate set-up of connection requests and access can be complex and confusing.

This is where enrollment expert and educator, David J. Zetter, PHR, SHRM-CP, CHC, CPCO, CPC, COC, PCS, FCS, CHBC, CMUP, PESC, CMAP, CMAPA, CMMP, CMHP, can help. During his upcoming live 60-minute online training, on Tuesday, November 16th at 1pm ET, David will walk you through how to set up your I&A and surrogacy accounts and how to set up connection requests to be able to access your provider enrollments in PECOS and their NPPES accounts which contain their NPI information. You will also learn to utilize the new multifactor authentication process and incorporate surrogacy access correctly the first time.

Here are just a few of the easy-to-implement PECOS Medicare enrollment, multifactor authentication and surrogacy account set-up and management steps you’ll receive by attending this upcoming 60-minute online training:

  • Efficiently add, modify and terminate providers from your group login
  • Comply with access rules for the Identify & Access (I&A) Management System
  • Efficiently manage organizational and individual practitioner enrollments in PECOS
  • Create an I&A account to securely access CMS systems such as NPPES & PECOS
  • Easily manage provider NPPES & PECOS accounts with your surrogacy program login
  • Successfully use your login to also manage your provider NPI records in NPPES
  • Choose your correct designation: Authorized/Access Manager (AO/AM) or Staff End User
  • More easily and quickly update practitioner information to avoid Medicare deactivation
  • Easily authorize your staff as PECOS & NPPES users to streamline workflow
  • And so much more….

By attending this expert-led online training, you’ll be able to more accurately and efficiently use the Identity & Access (I&A) Management System to comply with Medicare surrogacy regulations. Your login will also give you access to multiple platforms (PECOS, NPPES, etc.) all from one easy login.

Using Medicare’s surrogacy account accurately is one of the few occasions where complying with government regulations will actually save you time and headaches. With the click of a button, you’ll be able to tell which of your practitioners need updating or are missing information and be able to resolve the issue fast.

Whether utilizing the PECOS enrollment system to enroll a provider for the first time, modify an existing account or remove a practitioner from your group you must comply with Medicare access rules. This training will help you set up and utilize Medicare’s surrogacy process accurately and compliantly.
